Scientist/Sr Scientist, Immunology

This role is for a passionate and adaptable researcher in the Translational Department to support in vitro or ex vivo immunological assay development. You will have the opportunity to be part of the translational development of VesiCure’s exosome-based therapeutic programs in immune-oncology, autoimmunity, and vaccines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in biology and preferably in immunology. The candidate will perform assays such as ELISA, AlphaLISA, and flow cytometry-based assays to characterize biological effects of novel drug candidates in vitro. Preferred experience includes tissue culture and cell-based assays. Characterization of ex vivo samples from murine models is a plus. In this role, the candidate will have opportunities to work on several discovery programs on novel exosome based therapeutics.
Essential Responsibilities
1. Execution of primary immune cell-based assays
2. Demonstrate good laboratory skills in in vitro assay including FACS, ELISA, human PBMC and mammalian cell culture.
3. Critically analyze, interpret, and report experimental results, draw appropriate conclusions
4. Collaborate with scientific staff in the design and execution of experiments to evaluate therapeutic candidates and establish proof-of-biology
5. Work closely with corporate partners to support Discovery, translational and pre-clinical development of therapeutics
6. Other duties as required
Experience Requirements
1. MS with at least 1 year of hands-on immunological assay experience preferred
2. Expertise in standard immunologic techniques. Good tracked skills in multi-color flow cytometry is highly preferred
4. Self-motivated, team- and goal-orientated, with excellent attention to detail and impeccable documentation of experiments and results
5. Ability to manage multiple studies simultaneously in a fast-paced biotech environment
6. Excellent oral and written communication skills
7. Excellent organization and problem-solving skills
8. High degree of maturity and a collegial spirit
9. The ideal candidate will be hardworking, flexible, innovative and able to function effectively with the changing needs of projects
